    Do a Google search: "dept of motor vehicles savannah ga" to make sure the office you pick is open.The tag office on Johnny Mercer on Wilmington Island was open Monday until 5PM. I called because I was not familiar with this "tag office" which doesn't have big signage. Lady on the phone said it is right behind MacDonalds. It is. Got there about 3:30PM. Two people in line. Pleasant and helpful staff. Not stressed out like Eisenhower. Waited three minutes and was out the door in less than ten. Best Chatham County tag visit ever.

    I went to the tag office today. I did not know they close from noon- 1 for lunch. I arrived before noon however and was excited to see NO LINE! Yay! A woman at the right side counter tells me she can help me. I get to the counter and explain that I am there because I purchased a new car. I hand her my title and paperwork. She looks it over and proceeds to help me. Then her co-worker locks the door and mentions they are now in closed. The woman helping me turns around and states that it is 12:01 and are now closed and cannot help me until 1:00. Gives me my paperwork back and says a title takes too long.
